Tea for Two

I thought I wasn't going to be able to post my planned tea party for this week, but there was some daylight when I got home from work, so I did a quick photo shoot.  I'm actually fairly happy with the pictures even though I took them so quickly!

With tea for two and two for tea

Just me for you and you for me alone

~Tea for Two lyrics by Irving Caesar

I can't believe how quickly January flew by!  I'm starting February's tea parties with a German three piece set I found last year featuring a couple strolling through a blooming garden.

The couple find a welcoming spot on the saucer,

and the young suitor plays a tune for his ladylove.

Here is a closer look of the picture in the teacup:

Shall I sing to you a song?
Of lovers lost and won?
Dare instead I mention
My own deep affection?
My heart's regard for you
Is both unending and true.
In dreams you are my own
but selfish wants alone
Are unworthy to be sung.
You are my swan,
white down painted by the dawn,
Enticing all with your brilliant hues
Until even I your light suffuse
You are my song
To you I belong.
~The minstrel & his ladylove

Together we are

a warm and fragrant tea,

your sweetness

to cut my bitterness

makes a perfect cup.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm joining these tea parties this week (even though I'm a little late!)

  1. Carrie, I love china with romantic motifs on them. They are especially wonderful for February, the month of hearts and flowers. The colours are rich and vibrant and make a pretty presentation for tea time. Thanks for sharing and joining me for tea.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  2. What a great idea to put those little glass swans in the teacup. The photos are just wonderful and what a beautiful shade of pink with those old fashioned characters. I am so glad you shared your post at Friends sharing Tea!

  5. I love the fuschia colour. Now that the days are starting to get longer, it's nice to come home while there's still sunlight!

  6. A stunning trio that you found Carrie, a vibrant fuchsia with the gold makes the set look elegant.
