I found the gold seashell placemat at Homegoods (of course, when do I not go to that store?). On top I have one of my new silverplate spoons with inlayed pearls next to a seashell "plate":
This is a real seashell. My parents honeymooned on St. Thomas 41 years ago and were served food on this seashell. I made a salmon canapé with dill for my mini-tea (and my dinner).
I also borrowed two little shells to serve dessert in--two Belgium chocolates, one shaped like a shell and the other a seahorse.
In a decanter, I have a seashell decoration with a starfish and coral.
I'm serving tea in crystal teacups with a seashell design.
In the background I have an embroidered scene of goldfish that my aunt gave me.
I'm joining these tea parties this week:

Hi Carrie,
ReplyDeleteYour sea setting for your tea today is just so perfect! I love your shell placemat, your teacup and your shell serving pieces...treasures from you parents! You've even thought of the decanter and the embroidered picture and your food that matches your theme!
Hi Carrie,
ReplyDeleteYour sea inspired tea is perfect and I love that big shell you served your canape on. What a treasure to have! The crystal teacup is pretty too. Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a beautiful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Your teascape by the sea is perfect. I can almost smell the salt water! The shell is such a treasure -- great story. I love items with stories. Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful setting. Wish I had a Home Goods nearby.
