A fairy's tea party

Each fairy breath of summer, as it blows with loveliness, inspires the blushing rose.

I thought I'd start my return to normal posting by sharing this year's fairy garden!  I've made some changes from last year's version (which you can see here if you are interested).

Flittering among the leaves
and dancing past blooms,
laughter like wind chimes
on the breeze,
yet never seen.
But brew a pot of fragrant tea,
and a garden fairy
may join you for a cup.

There is an extra chair if you would like to have a seat?

A couple of frog princes have already arrived.  One can always hope!

Maybe a treat too?

(I'll share the recipe for these Neapolitan cupcakes later this week)

Come away oh human child,
To the waters and the wild,
With a fairy hand in hand
For the world's more full of weeping, than you can understand.
~Yeats, "The Stolen Child"

  1. Really sweet and creative fairy garden! It's the perfect spot for reading with a cup of tea. I read your first post on your trip to Paris and this weekend I look forward to reading the rest in one sitting. I've been wanting to go to Paris for a while and now I can travel there vicariously through your blog. Merci!

  2. Carrie, I love a fairy garden and yours is very cute! Love the poetry too. We are about fifteen minutes from the beach that we usually go to. As you know being on an island affords us beaches anywhere we want to go here. It's a fantastic place to live in the summertime if you're a beach person like myself. Thank you for joining me for tea this week and Happy June!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  3. How precious!! My 11 yr old daughter has been wanting to create a fairy garden this summer. Now that school is out this is on our bucket list - great idea to make it into a bit of a tea party too! CUTE!
