Sailing away on the Disney Fantasy!

We've finally come to embarkation day!  We bought a Disney transfer from Port Orleans, Riverside.  The bus came close to noon, so we had plenty of time to get breakfast (Mickey waffle!) and even walk around the resort a little.

We walked down to see Port Orleans, French Quarter, which one of the few moderate resorts we haven't stayed in--definitely want to one day!

After wandering in French Quarter's main building

and finding some Mickey beignets

we were back in the main building at Riverside waiting for the Mickey Cruise Line express,

and on our way to Port Canaveral.  I had heard that the buses from the resorts got you to Port Canaveral pretty late which some people had complained about, but we liked it!  We walked write up to check in and then went right on the ship practically!

The lobby was beautiful!

We went immediately up to Cabanas, the ship's buffet, to get lunch.

After eating, our rooms were ready for us to go right in.

My sister, Katie, and I shared an inside room.  The port hole you see is fake--it is like a TV that shows scenes from outside the room.  It is a really cool touch.

The bathroom isn't too tiny for an inside room and even has a tub!

We waited there for just a little bit for our big bags to come, and took a little time to hang up some clothes before the muster drill. Then it was on deck for the Sailing-away Party!

It was back downstairs to do a bit of shopping,

then to find a spot for the tree lighting ceremony!

Dinner that night was at Animator's Palate..

In Animator's Palate, screens show scenes from different shows.  If you are close to one of the screens, it will even interact with the table (we have not been close enough yet to see this for ourselves).

We had second dinner, which started at 8, so rushed to try to get a spot for a second Christmas show, this time with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Anna even made it snow right there in the Atrium.

We rounded out the night with drinks in La Piazza, one of the bars in the Europa adult section of the Disney Fantasy.

Love coming home to a towel animal and chocolates!

  1. My comments on these posts are much shorter, but I assume that you are probably grateful, haha. Anyway...

    • The photo of your Mickey bus transfer makes me weirdly nostalgic for Flixbus. I've clearly been stuck at home for wayyyy too long.
    • Not gonna lie, I got superrrrrr claustrophobic just looking at your room and knowing that there's no window with air and that you're completely shut inside a boat. Clearly I'll never be a cruiser, LOL.
    • The food looks really tasty, though! I foresee that the majority of my comments during this particular series will be food-centric, but then again that's always the case...
