Happy Saturday everyone! I will be taking a break starting tomorrow from the blog, but I will be back next weekend. I'm really sad that I will miss the tea parties on Tuesday, but I'm posting my mini party today.
Everything's coming up roses and butterflies! Starting on the bottom, I found this beautiful runner in Epcot's China when I was in Disney World a couple of weeks ago.
Overlaid on top of the pink roses and other flowers in yellow and blue are embroidered fanciful birds in silvery white and chrysanthemums in gold. I was having a difficult time picking out the runner I wanted and my father chose this one out of the selection. I think he has good taste ;).
On top we have my newest set that I just purchased from Homegoods (I know, I really need to stay out of that store). These are Gracie China and were a great deal. Gracie China is made in China, so these are the perfect compliment to my Chinese runner.
Even the design is a good match with its thick ring of pink with gold accents and even pink roses like in the runner.
I also loved the butterflies in all different jewel tones. I picture walking through a garden in full bloom with butterflies flitting from one flower to another. None of my other sets have butterflies like these, so I was instantly hooked.
Since we have a bit of a Chinese vibe going, I have a special dessert to go with this tea.
These are red bean bun pasties. The design of these little desserts is very attractive--I think they would be a pretty addition to any tea party, and could have all different sorts of fillings! Now I just need to figure out how to make them.
I purchased these desserts from a local Thai place after a delicious dinner--which is cheating on my Chinese theme, but red bean paste is used in Chinese desserts as well, so let's just pretend that it was a Chinese restaurant :). They were delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, and would go perfectly with a nice black tea.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a terrific week!
Gorgeous plate with the butterflies Carrie, wish I could join you in person for tea to see it.
ReplyDeleteI see you went to Ireland, I'm heading there this evening for a garden tour. I'll try and stay clear of the fat rascals. :-)
