Peach Cutie Pies

I served peach tarts at the little Savannah tea earlier this week.  When I was looking for peach pie recipes to use, I came across this recipe on Martha Stewart's website.  It is apparently from a cookbook by Dani Cone called "Cutie Pies."  I just love that name for mini-pies!

I did change the recipe slightly.  First, I cheated and used refrigerated ready-made dough (one day I really need to try and make my own crust, but the instant gratification of the boxed kind is so tempting!). I did made the filling as called for in the recipe.  For the crumb topping I omitted the oats and used chopped pecans instead.

The day I baked them they were delicious, but by the end of the next day, the crust and crumb topping was getting a bit soggy and I couldn't really taste the peaches.  This is definitely a recipe to make the day of.  I like to make desserts a day or two before the party, so I might do a follow up with a different recipe for the filling to see if it does better the next day.

  1. Hi Carrie
Summer is such a busy time so I'm catching up over your last few posts. The tour of Savannah was awesome, imagine giving a city for a Christmas present!
The peach tarts here sound delicious, I use the Pillsbury dough in a box from the refrigeration section of the grocers.
